Chocolate
Challenge 98
The Chocolate
Festival is a two-day event held in the City of Fairfax,
each February. The Downtown Fairfax Coalition
invites you to submit your work of chocolate art in this
year's competition: Chocolate Challenge 98.
A panel of celebrity judges will select winners from
chocolate cakes and sculptures created by some of the
area's most talented chefs and chocolatiers. This
year's categories will include: People's Choice, Best in
Show, Best Historical Interpretation, and Best in
Taste.
Space is limited, so preference will be given to the
first 25 confirmed entries. All entries will be
displayed for two days, and entrants are encouraged to
bring promotional material to be displayed with their
entry.
This event is open to the public (admission is $1 for
adults) and is widely publicized in the Washington Post
and other local area news. There is a small,
non-refundable deposit of $5.00, used to defray set-up
and clean-up costs (returned to those not selected).
The entry deadline is January 23, 1998, so don't
delay! For a registration form or for more
information, contact new CASANOVA member, Gary Powers, at
(703) 352-1565.
